About The Event
You may roll your eyes at commercial auditions but when was the last time you booked one? I'm obsessed with commercial auditions. I LOVE them. And I know what clients are looking for.
In this hands-on class, actors will explore the different skills needed to audition for commercials, from non-speaking and lifestyle spots to scripted dialogue, host and spokesperson roles, and teleprompter work.
We’ll dig into the choices that make a commercial performance stand out: pace, tone, comedic timing, feature versus benefit, and how to find the right balance between being engaging and feeling natural. You’ll experiment with alternate takes, improv, and different approaches to the same material so you can make bold, specific choices and take direction with confidence.
We’ll also tackle the technical side of self-taping, including framing, focal points, eyelines, physical action, and working with props without letting them distract from your performance.
