The roots of physical comedy can be traced back to the Renaissance, but to this day it remains an essential part of humorous expression. In Intro to Physical Comedy, we dive deep into the challenging elements that make up this timeless comedic form. Watch and study the past masters (e.g., Buster Keaton, Harpo Marx, Lucille Ball, Peter Sellers, John Ritter, Jacques Tati...). Learn and safely practice their hilarious techniques and apply your new skills to auditions. This course is designed to infuse your comedic skills with improved timing and hilariously exaggerated physicality. Plus, learn how to add elements of physical comedy to your TV/Film and commercial auditions!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Sarah East (owner, The Audition Room) is a working actress and member of the Screen Actors Guild. After graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in 2005, Sarah spent time in New York City performing sketch comedy and improv before moving to Louisville, where she's grown her theatrical and on-camera resume to include nearly 100 Co-Star, Spokesperson, and Principal credits in film/TV, commercial, and live shows. Her work as a private acting coach has been credited with helping countless students and adults book on-camera roles in box office feature films, episodics, independent projects, and commercials.
Neil Mulac (owner, Everything Cinema Productions), is a working actor, filmmaker, screenwriter, and teacher. He is an alumnus of the University of Louisville, where he studied both Theatre and English. Neil was a founding member of the comedy troupe, The Indicators, where he was often cited for his skillful use of physical humor. He often brings this skill to a variety of stage, commercial, film, and television projects where he is involved.
